Background
In response to the existing units retirement schedule, long-term power load growth demands and enhancing power plants performance, promote competitiveness and reducing CO2 as well as air pollutants emission, Taiwan Power Company therefore initiate "Hsinta Power Plant Combined Cycle Renewal Project" (hereinafter referred as “The Project”), the total Project capacity is about 3,900 Mega watts of Combined Cycle Units.
Project Location and Scope
The planned power generation facility is located in Yong-An Salt Pan on the southeast side of Hsinta Power Plant and is located in Yong-An District of Kaohsiung City, covering an area of about 78.6 hectares and other 3.59 hectares in the existing plant, with a total of 82.19 hectares as the planned area.

- Up to 2024/10, Overall progress is delay about 1.6%. The reasons are due to the low-lying salt marsh land, a large amount of sand pile foundation piles need to be constructed, Covid-19, the Ukrainian-Russian War, short of construction worker and Typhoons.
- The Project schedule amendment deferred action was officially approved by the Executive Yuan on 2023/12/14 ,and Commercial Operation Date is in computing.
Construction Status:
- Main power generation equipment procurement & construction: Piling, rebar installation, formwork, concrete pouring, hoisting and installation of main support structure & casing.
- Cooling Cycle Water System Construction: CWP pump house, Inlet tunnel, Outlet tunnel.

Install selective catalytic reduction system (SCR) to reduce air pollutant emissions. (The emission concentration of other power plant can be referenced)
