What is a planned work outage. A planned power outage, not triggered by a shortage of power supply, refers to temporary scheduled pauses in power necessary for on-site projects. These projects are most often for delivery of electricity to customers as well as for maintenance and installation of electrical equipment for public works programs. To ensure workers’ safety, electricity is cut off temporarily. Before a power outage, notices will be sent to individual customers' mailboxes, posted on the front door of the buildings, and handed to the building security guards. These notices will include information regarding the time and location of the power outages, as well as the related project description, and will be uploaded to the official website of Taipower's branch offices.
