Linkou Power Plant is located on the coast of north Taiwan. It has been playing an important role in Taiwan Economic Miracle from the past, at present, and in the future. It was established with two set of 300MW dual-fuel fired boiler (oil & coal) in 1968 to meet the increasing power demand by the rapid industrialization. At that time, it was the largest power plant in Taiwan, which also laid a solid foundation for the growth of economic and industrialization in our country. After half-century operation, those old units were decommissioned in September 2014.
Nowadays, there are three whole new high-efficiency coal-fired units in Linkou power plant. A series of advanced environmental protection equipment is adopted to reduce environmental impact. Furthermore, the native species lily was cultivated on the greenspace and surrounding of LKPP. When spring comes, the lilies are in full bloom. The lily-painting stack is not only the new landmark of Linkou district, but also the symbolic meaning of environment-friendly power plant. In the future, it will continuously undertake great responsibilities for electricity generating and set a model for ecology power plant.
