Long-term Power Development Plan
Considering government’s energy policy and both domestic and overseas environmental conditions, Taipower’s latest power development program (2024 program, based on the report of MOEA) shows that, from 2024 to 2033, the volume of retirement of the installed capacity of thermal and nuclear power is going to be, approximately, 8,460MW. To cover the shortage of installed capacity due to the retirement of those units, Taipower is actively planning a series of new thermal power plants with total installed capacity of 15,510MW, including Tatan CC#7~#9, Hsinta Rebuild #1~#3, Taichung #1~#2, Talin Rebuild #1~#2 and Hsiehho Rebuild #1, Tunghsiao Rebuild #4~#8 etc.(as shown in the figure below)
