Taipower signed Letter of Intent for Joint Venture to found 'Taiwan International Windpower Training Corp. (TIWTC)' today (20180315) in Taiwan-Europe Wind Industry Summit held by institutions including Taichung City Government and the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan (ECCT), etc. with some domestic and foreign enterprises such as Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC), China Steel Corporation (CSC), CSBC Corporation Taiwan, etc. with an aim to utilize each other's strengths and resources to found the 'Windpower Training Corp.' in Taichung Port area to collaborate on the training of local construction and maintenance personnel for wind power industry and to ensure the operational safety of offshore turbine technicians. The corporation is planning to officially recruit new members in January 2019, which is expected to attract domestic/foreign wind turbine developers, manufacturers or maintenance service providers to send their personnel to Taiwan for training, and thus Taiwan can come out ahead in offshore wind power market in the future.
