The《Power Infrastructure as Landscape-Taiwan Power Cultural Heritage Exhibition》organized by Taipower was launched at Warehouse No.3 of Songshan Cultural and Creative Park today (20180928). The event was presided over by Taipower Chairman Yang Wei-fu with the opening ceremony jointly officiated by guests including Deputy Minister Xiao Zonghuang of Ministry of Culture and Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government, etc. Taipower stated that this exhibition was organized from the perspectives of conserving cultural and historical documents and power industry heritages to display the spectacular power Infrastructure landscape and precious cultural and historical documents, which enable people to observe the enormous transformation of the early stage of Taiwan's hydropower development which had led the modernization of industries in Taiwan. In addition, a book focusing on four topics in power development history about Zhuoshui River, Dajia River, Meinong Zhuzaimen Hydropower Plant and the electricity transmission between the west and east parts of Taiwan was publicized to share stories about power industry and the land in the past 100 years with the public.

Taipower said that the main purpose of cultural heritage conservation is not only to 'conserve' but  also to help people of the present and the future to witness the historical and environmental changes as well as the context of how their own fields were formed by means of what has been conserved. In order to enhance the participation rate and visibility of this exhibition, Taipower for the first time co-organized exhibition event with Taipei City Government's Department of Cultural Affairs and cooperated with professional curation teams in Taiwan to hold this exhibition in such a large space (an area of approximately 300 pings) in Warehouse No.3 of Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. It is hoped that visitors can understand the context of the 100-year development of power industry through the cultural & historical data, interviews with related people and documentary pictures or photos presented in the exhibition and know more about the power and land in our daily life from various perspectives.
