The awards ceremony of '2018 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards' was held at Grand Hotel this morning (20181122). Taipower was bestowed with three awards: 'Corporate Sustainability Report Award—TOP 50 Platinum Award', 'TOP 50 Comprehensive Performance Award' and 'Talented Personnel Development Award'. Chairman Yang Wei-fu represented Taipower to receive the awards from Vice Chairman of Financial Supervisory Commission Zhang Chuanzhang. Taipower won these awards after winning 'Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards' for the first time in June and 'Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award' for the third time in August this year, which showed Taipower's commitment to detailed and complete information disclosure, efforts in managing the company and resolve to achieve environmental sustainability as well as its persistence in promoting corporate social responsibility.
Taipower stated that it has started to compile Sustainability Report since 2007 and has won the TOP 50 Gold Award in Energy Industry Category three times since it participated in 'Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award' in 2009. And it took top honors by winning the 'Platinum Award' this year. Taipower pointed out in its 2017 Sustainability Report that in order to ensure its stable progression to keep up with the rapidly changing trends both at home and abroad, Taipower shall work on four issues, which are facilitating energy transition, promoting business transformation, strengthening internal & external communication and the deployment for smart life, to build up the foundation for the sustainable operation of the corporate. The content and data information of the Report covered Taipower's 2017 commitment to and performance on various sustainability issues such as company management, social responsibility and environmental sustainability, etc., which was certified by an external third-party 'Taiwan Electric Research & Testing Center, SGS' for its compliance with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, which fully showed that the information publicized by Taipwer can be verified by the public.
