Taipower's effort in developing green power never stops. It has built a solar power plant with an installed capacity of 100MW (100,000 KW) at Changhua Coastal Industrial Park. For more than a decade, Tapower has also implemented a three-phase onshore wind power project with a total energy output of 71.2MW (about 70,000 KW) on this green land. The 31 wind turbines of the first two phases have already synchronized in parallel and currently the four wind turbines of Phase III have also completed. ‘Chang-Bin Dual Green Energy Power Plant' has become a new force of green power in our country with a total yearly energy output of more than 0.34 billion kwh and a carbon reduction of 190,000 metric tons. Taipower stressed that Chang-Bin solar power plant is not only the largest scale ground–mounted PV solar system site in Taiwan, but it also aims to become the first ‘Clean Energy Center' combining green power with environment in Taiwan!
Yang Wei-fu, chairman of Taipower, said that as an implementer of government energy policy, Taipower is actively promoting energy system transition. Besides the construction of the largest solar energy power plant in Taiwan at Changhua Coastal Industrial Park and the development of onshore wind power, Taipower is also actively constructing offshore wind power facilities in the sea area of Zhang-hua and installing grid integration facilities for offshore wind power for the future. Taipower shall keep utilizing the good ‘Wind & Light' in Zhang-hua and appreciates the great support offered by Miss Wang Huimei, county magistrate of Zhang-hua County, by which the development of local green power industry shall be promoted.
